Mobile IV Therapy in North Scottsdale
North Scottsdale is the part of the city that came last. Scottsdale incorporated in 1951 with about 2,000 people, and it was a run of annexations from 1981 to 1984, almost 80 square miles, that carried it north across open desert toward the Tonto National Forest; the city now runs 31 miles from end to end. Much of that land had been Arizona State Trust land used for ranching. Pinnacle Peak, a 3,169-foot granite summit where the Hohokam once hunted and gathered food, came into the city in the 1980s. Scottsdale voters then taxed themselves to buy the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, which has grown to some 30,500 acres, one of the largest urban desert preserves in the world. Between the peaks, neighborhoods such as McDowell Mountain Ranch and Troon North filled in with homes behind community gates, resort casitas and golf courses set into the boulders.
