Mobile IV Therapy in DC Ranch, Scottsdale

DC Ranch is named for a cattle brand. Dr. William Dorr Crosby registered the DC brand in 1885, and E.O. Brown, a businessman who arrived from Wisconsin in 1901, bought it along with its earmark. The Browns homesteaded beside the only perpetual spring in the McDowell Mountains, about three gallons a minute that came with the Silver Leaf mining claim, and over two generations the ranch grew to 43,000 acres; the family never agreed on what the letters stood for, reading them as Desert Camp, Dad’s Camp or Dry Camp. By 1910 the ranch was shipping cattle to California. DMB broke ground on the master-planned community in 1997, the first families moved into the Desert Camp neighborhood in 1998, and that same year more than 4,600 acres of the upper ranch were sold to the City of Scottsdale for the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
