Mobile IV Therapy in McCormick Ranch, Scottsdale
McCormick Ranch began in 1921 as the Jolly family’s 160-acre ranch at what is now the corner of Scottsdale and Indian Bend roads. In 1941 it passed to a Cleveland company, Research Products Corporation, and soon after to Fowler and Anne McCormick. Fowler, a grandson of both John D. Rockefeller and reaper inventor Cyrus McCormick, later ran International Harvester, and between 1942 and 1954 the couple bought up the land around the ranch and wintered here. Anne loved Arabian horses; in the mid-1950s she set aside 150 acres near today’s Shea Boulevard and Pima Road as Paradise Park, which hosted the Arizona Arabian Horse Show from 1956 to 1968. In 1967 the McCormicks gave 100 acres to the city for a park, and after Anne’s death about 4,236 acres sold to Kaiser-Aetna in 1970 for $12.1 million, becoming one of the largest planned communities in Arizona, about five square miles between Indian Bend Road and Shea.
