Liberty Station was the Naval Training Center San Diego from 1923 until military activity ended in 1997. Its 361 acres in Point Loma now sit on a boat channel off San Diego Bay, just west of the airport and a few miles north of downtown, with a retail district, an arts district, homes, hotels and a waterfront park along the channel.
