Mobile IV Therapy in Boise, Idaho

Boise may owe its name to a shout. By one account, when Captain Benjamin Bonneville’s party reached the overlook now called Bonneville Point on the Oregon Trail, a French-speaking guide looked down on the green river valley and cried “Les bois! Les bois!”: the woods. Another account credits French-Canadian fur trappers of the 1820s, who called it la rivière boisée, the wooded river, an oasis of cottonwoods in the high desert. The valley had long been a gathering place for trade and winter camps of the Northern Shoshone and Bannock peoples. After gold turned up in the Boise Basin in 1863, the Army built a new Fort Boise where the Oregon Trail met the road to the mining camps, and a year later Boise became the capital of Idaho Territory. Today about 235,700 people live here, 2,704 feet up on the Boise River, making it Idaho’s largest city. Locals say BOY-see.
