Mobile IV Therapy in University City, San Diego

University City was planned around a campus that did not exist yet. From the late 1800s this mesa between La Jolla and Miramar was known as Selwyn, and in 1959 some 2,500 acres were acquired from Sawday-Sexton for a master-planned community meant to house the faculty and staff of the new UC San Diego side by side. Rose Canyon splits it in two. South of the canyon, University Square grew from the 1960s into the 1980s around Governor Drive, and its storefront library was so busy that neighbors pushed for a building of its own; the 10,000-square-foot University Community Library opened in 1978. North of the canyon, the neighborhood filled in around Westfield UTC at Genesee Avenue and La Jolla Village Drive, and in 1993 a 32-acre dirt lot on Regents Road became Doyle Community Park. Hemmed in by Interstate 5, Interstate 805 and State Route 52, the whole area is known as the Golden Triangle.
