IV Clinics Near Arcadia

The Arizona Canal is the thread between Arcadia and Old Town Scottsdale. William John Murphy was hired in 1883 to build it, and the canal was finished in May 1885; five more miles added in 1894 brought it to about 47 miles. It starts at the Granite Reef Diversion Dam and flows west through downtown Scottsdale and then past Arcadia on its way across the Valley. In 1888 Winfield Scott bought 640 acres on the canal's south side, the beginning of Scottsdale, and Murphy later built the Ingleside Club hotel in what is now Arcadia, an early step in the area's resort economy. Flood irrigation from the canal's gates is still common in the neighborhoods it created. Just west of Scottsdale Road, the Scottsdale Waterfront lines the canal, a short walk from our Old Town clinic.
