Mobile IV Therapy in Paradise Valley, Arizona
Paradise Valley takes its name from the wide desert basin that runs north from the Phoenix Mountains toward Cave Creek and Carefree; surveyors for the Rio Verde Canal Company, under Frank Conkey, first used the name in the 1880s, perhaps for the spring wildflowers and palo verde trees. For decades the land was cattle range and farm lots, and after World War II people began building houses on lots of one to five acres. As Phoenix and Scottsdale grew and annexed their neighbors, residents formed a citizens’ committee, gathered signatures and won incorporation from the county on May 24, 1961. Today the town covers 15.4 square miles, with Mummy Mountain at its center, Camelback Mountain on its southern edge and Piestewa Peak to the west, and about 12,700 people live here, alongside Paolo Soleri’s workshop and a long list of resorts.
