Mobile IV Therapy in Meridian, Idaho

Meridian takes its name from a survey line. The town began in 1891 as Hunter, on the Onweiler farm; two years later the local Odd Fellows lodge called itself Meridian because it sat on the Boise Meridian, and the town took the name. The Settlers’ Irrigation Ditch of 1892 turned the dry plain into farms, and Christian Zenger filed the town plat in 1893 on his wife Eliza Ann’s homestead. Orchards and prune dryers lined the railroad, an interurban line tied the village to Boise and Nampa from 1908 until 1928, and in 1929, in the depths of the Depression, the Ada County Dairymen’s cooperative creamery opened, making Challenge Butter seven days a week for 40 years. Meridian became a city in 1941 and is now the second-largest in Idaho, with about 118,000 people at the 2020 census.
