Mobile IV Therapy in Walnut Creek, California

Walnut Creek takes its name from its stream, the Arroyo de las Nueces, named for the native walnut trees along its banks. Bay Miwok bands, the Saclan, Volvon and Tactan, lived in these hills before the land was divided into Mexican ranchos; Juana Sanchez de Pacheco’s 18,000-acre Rancho Arroyo de las Nueces y Bolbones covered much of today’s city. American settlers gathered at a crossroads called The Corners, where the roads from Pacheco and Lafayette met at what is now Mount Diablo Boulevard and North Main Street. Milo Hough opened the Walnut Creek House hotel there in 1855, and a post office took the town’s name in 1862. The Southern Pacific arrived in 1891, the city incorporated on October 21, 1914, and the old branch line later became the Iron Horse Trail. About 70,000 people live here today, where I-680 meets Highway 24.
