Mobile IV Therapy in San Ramon, California
San Ramon is named for a man. José María Amador called his 1834 land grant Rancho San Ramón after Ramón, a Native American vaquero who had tended mission sheep here, adding the “San” by Spanish custom. Before that the valley belonged to the Seunen, an Ohlone people who built their homes by the creeks, until Mission San José took the land for grazing around 1797. The settlement went by Brevensville, Lynchville and Limerick before the name held; in 1850 Leo and Mary Jane Norris bought the rancho’s northwest corner near today’s Bollinger Canyon and Crow Canyon roads, and a post office made San Ramon official in 1873. The Southern Pacific branch line arrived in 1891 and later became the Iron Horse Trail. About 85,000 people live here now, below Mount Diablo and around the office campus of Bishop Ranch.
