When an IV makes sense
Most mild dehydration gets better with drinking fluids. An IV may help when you are behind on fluids and drinking isn't catching you up.
After a day in the heat
Hot weather and heavy sweating can leave you low on fluids. IV fluid may help you rehydrate.
After hard exercise
A long workout, race or hike can take more fluid than you replace. The Refuel IV pairs IV fluid with B-complex and B-12.
A stomach bug with nausea
When nausea makes it hard to drink, the Hangover IV adds Zofran, an anti-nausea medication.
After travel
Long flights and busy trips can leave you run down and low on fluids. IV fluid may help you rehydrate.
When to go to the ER instead
IV therapy with us is an elective wellness service, not emergency care. If you have confusion, fainting, chest pain, or can't keep any fluids down, call 911 or go to the ER instead of booking an IV.

Frequently asked questions
How fast does it work?
Most clients start to feel better during or shortly after the drip, which usually runs about 20–45 minutes.
Should I drink fluids or get an IV?
For most mild dehydration, drinking water or an electrolyte drink is enough. An IV may help when you are behind on fluids and drinking isn't catching you up, for example when nausea makes it hard to drink. If you have severe symptoms, go to the ER instead of booking an IV.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and most are approved at checkout. If your card isn't approved, you pay at the visit and we can send you an itemized invoice with the procedure (CPT) and diagnosis (ICD) codes, so you can submit it to your insurance as an out-of-network claim. Out-of-network costs usually count toward your plan's out-of-network out-of-pocket maximum; check your plan for details.
How soon can a nurse come?
We'll be there ASAP.
Do I need an appointment?
Mobile visits are by appointment. Our San Diego and Arizona clinics take walk-ins when there is availability, and booking ahead is recommended. Our Bay Area clinics in Pleasanton and San Jose are by appointment only. Boise is mobile only.
Do I need a prescription?
No. Your nurse completes a health screening before treatment.
Can I add vitamins?
Yes. Add up to three enhancements when you book.
Booking for a group?
One person books and prepays their IV online. Each additional guest then completes our intake and consent form at asapivs.com/consents, which adds them to the visit so your nurse arrives ready for everyone.
Is there a minimum age?
We usually see clients about 12 and older, decided case by case based on maturity and health. For minors, a parent or guardian completes the consent form at asapivs.com/consents.
