Mobile IV Therapy in Carlsbad, California

Carlsbad is named after a spa town in Bohemia. In the 1880s a former sailor, John A. Frazier, dug a well beside the railroad and offered its water to train passengers, and the stop became Frazier’s Station; when a second well turned up water chemically similar to the famous springs of Karlsbad, the Carlsbad Land and Mineral Water Company gave the new town that name. Long before, the Portolá expedition of 1769 camped on Buena Vista Creek and met villagers there, and in 1842 the southern part of today’s city was granted as Rancho Agua Hedionda. Citrus, avocados and olives carried the town through the county’s 1887 land bust. Carlsbad incorporated in 1952 to avoid annexation by Oceanside, opened the first modern skatepark in 1976, and in 1999 welcomed LEGOLAND California, the first Legoland outside Europe. Frazier’s original well site survives at Alt Karlsbad on Carlsbad Boulevard.
